Lynbrook High School

New Guidance & Student Services (GSS) Building and Theater Lobby

San Jose, CA

Part of a larger series of improvements being made to Lynbrook High School’s campus, the new Guidance & Student Services (GSS) Building and Theater Lobby complete the school’s welcoming and safe new entrance. Replacing the undersized and poorly located administration building, the new GSS Building aggregates administration and student resources under one roof. Including a reception area, office space for administration, guidance, counseling, and student services, a staff support lounge, a College and Career Center and conference rooms, the building is amply equipped to serve a wide variety of student and staff needs. The building acts as a “front door,” guiding students, staff and visitors along a tree-lined pedestrian thoroughfare into the Quad at the heart of campus.

The new Theater Lobby sits adjacent to the GSS Building as the final piece of the new campus entrance and includes an inviting, formal promenade, providing a gathering space for groups large and small. A Theater & Arts Courtyard, connected by way of a folding glass partition wall, creates a seamless flow from indoor to outdoor classroom and performance space.

Making a Difference
To better serve its growing student population, Lynbrook High School now has a multi-purpose and appropriately-sized student services and administration building. Adjacent, a new theater lobby completes the campus’s welcoming new entry.
“The new Guidance and Student Services (GSS) Building is a welcoming and friendly gateway to the school while simultaneously providing enhanced security for visitor access.”
