New Science & Robotics Lab Building

Hollister, CA

Hollister High School’s Science and Robotics Lab is a state-of-the-art classroom building designed to serve the school’s growing population and progressive academic programs. Comprised of 12 science labs, a Robotics Shop, and prep and support spaces, the two-story building utilized a completely customized version of QKA’s prefabricated building solution, Folia, allowing the project to meet the District’s specific needs and accelerated schedule. Modifications to Folia’s design resulted in a layout and footprint that accommodates both the science classroom and single-story Robotics Shop, as well as an exterior that matches the Mission Style architecture of the rest of the campus.

Ultimately delivered 12 months ahead of a traditional design and construction project, the use of Folia’s prototype also had the benefits of incorporating its many sustainable features. The new Science and Robotics Lab Building complies with Cal Green and CA Energy Code Requirements, includes energy efficient systems, materials selected to decrease indoor air pollution, and is solar ready.
