Napa Valley Unified School District
Awards:
2006 Merit Award - AIA California Council/CASH
Features:
Historic renovation,
680 seat theater, fly-loft,
major seismic upgrade after earthquake
As part of a 60,000 square foot seismic upgrade and historic renovation, the magnificent 1922 Napa High School neo-classical theater was restored to its original grandeur. From years of neglect and severe earthquake damage, the Performing Arts Theater was in shambles. A false ceiling was removed to uncover a detailed ceiling and proscenium. The 1960’s seating was replaced; new house and stage lighting, acoustical systems and fly-loft rigging were installed. The lobby and back stage areas were renovated.
Exterior concrete and plaster including parapet reliefs and statuary were repaired and painted.
