Designed to meet the District’s Educational Program, American Canyon High School is an environmentally responsible, innovative campus designed to bring a sense of identity to the City of American Canyon. Upon completion, ACHS will be one of the first schools approved under the Collaborative for High Performance School (CHPS) verified program.

American Canyon High School is driven by three major forces: the Educational Program, Sustainable Design Strategies and providing a civic presence for the growing suburban community of American Canyon. Organized around a double ellipse pathway and campus green are the Library, Administration, 400-seat Theater, 2,500-seat Gymnasium, four-Small Learning Communities and several specialized Academy buildings.

Sustainable Design elements include a one-megawatt photovoltaic system, recycled & rapidly renewable materials, ground loop geothermal system to minimize heating & cooling, and abundant daylight to reduce dependence on artificial lighting.
