The old Salvador school house has been rehabilitated and restored to once again function as the center of its campus. Originally built in the 1920’s to serve as the schoolhouse for the small rural community of Salvador, it is a classic example of its type and time. In the early 1970’s the original school was scheduled for demolition, but the initial bids were rejected as too high, and demolition was indefinitely postponed.

Waiting for its destiny, the structure was boarded up and maintained as a District warehouse until Napa Valley Unified School District undertook a local bond funded program to build multi-use rooms at all their elementary school campuses. At Salvador, it was recognized that there was already such a building centrally located on campus. QKA structurally rehabilitated and subtly modernized Salvador to return this building to its original grandeur.
